FAIRFAX, Va. (March 6, 2022) – Howard University men's tennis team fell on the road at George Mason, 5-2.
With the loss, HU dropped to 1-3 on the year while Mason moved to 3-5 overall.
Sophomore
Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) and freshman
Marcel Dawson (Midland, Ga.) led the way with singles victories.
Dieng knocked off the Patriots' Ryan Charles in three sets (4-6, 7-6, 7-4) while the Georgia native remains undefeated in the spring, topping Mason's Herman Jentoft in a three-set thriller (4-6, 6-2, 6-3).
George Mason won all three contests in doubles competition.
Tuesday (March 8), Howard takes on crosstown rival Georgetown. Match time is slated for 6 p.m.
