LORETTA, Pa. (March 30, 2022) – Howard University women's lacrosse team suffered a setback on the road at Saint Francis (Pa.), 21-5.
Graduate
Lailah Robey (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) led the way with four points (two goals and two assists), followed by junior
Josie Mallory (Charlottesville, Va.) with a pair of goals in the loss.
Saint Francis (SFU) scored the first four goals of the contest, but an unassisted goal by Mallory got HU on the board, 4-1. SFU kept the pressure on, scoring four unanswered goals, but Mallory delivered another goal before in the end of the opening quarter.
SFU took a commanding 10-goal advantage into halftime, 12-2, but back-to-back goals from Robey and freshman
Kimora Williams (Malton, N.J.) cut the margin to eight, 12-4. Saint Francis responded with a 4-1 run and extended the lead back to double digits after three, 16-5.
Saint Francis scored all five goals in the fourth.
Newcomer
Anya Waller (King of Prussia, Pa.) tallied 19 saves in the loss.
Amanda Heidt led the Red Flash with six points (five goals and an assist) in the victory.
On April 2, Howard begins a brief two-match homestand versus Sacred Heart. First draw is scheduled for noon at Greene Stadium.
