WASHINGTON (March 2, 2022) – Howard University women's lacrosse fell to George Mason, 18-5, inside Greene Stadium.
With the setback, HU fall to 1-4 overall while the Patriots moved to 1-4 on the season.
Junior
Quai Skeete-Ridley (New Carrolton, Md.) led the way three goals in the loss.
Howard trailed after one, 4-2, thanks to a goal from senior
Sydney Saunders (Baltimore) with 14 ticks left in the opening frame.
Mason dominated the second period, scoring six goals while taking a 10-2 advantage at the break.
Moments after halftime, George Mason ballooned the lead to double digits and grabbed a 11-goal lead after three, 14-3.
Skeete-Ridley scored two of her third goals in the fourth quarter, but the Patriots would eventually roll to victory.
Phoebe Nelson finished the afternoon with four goals in the win.
Sunday (March 6), Howard travels to Farmville, Va., to face Longwood. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
