WASHINGTON (March 15, 2022) – Howard University women's lacrosse team fell to Kennesaw State (KSU), 23-2, at Greene Stadium.
With the setback, HU dropped to 1-5 overall while the Owls improved to 5-4 on the season.
KSU controlled the tempo from the opening draw, taking a 7-0 advantage into the second period.
Kennesaw State added two more goals until senior
Sydney Saunders (Baltimore) got HU on the board with 10:30 remaining before intermission, 9-1.
KSU closed out the half with five unanswered goals and took a commanding 14-1 lead into the break.
After halftime, the Owls scored all five goals in the third and held a 19-1 advantage into the fourth.
Third-year Bison
Quai Skeete-Ridley (New Carrollton, Md.) scored the second goal for HU.
KSU's Siena Gore tallied four goals in the win.
Friday (March 18), Howard travels to Dover, Del., to face Delaware State. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
