WASHINGTON (February 22, 2022) – Howard University softball team fell to Big 12 foe Iowa State (ISU), 10-1, at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy in Southeast D.C.
With the setback, HU dropped to 3-5 on the young season while the Cyclones improved to 7-1 overall.

Camille Navarro (Los Angeles) led the way, going 2-of-4 with a double.
ISU's Angelina Allen delivered an RBI-single to centerfield and put the Cyclones ahead after one, 1-0.
After a solo shot from Iowa State's Mikayla Ramos in the third, 2-0, Alesia Ranches added two more runs in the fourth, thanks to a two-run shot over the left centerfield fence, 4-0.
Bottom four, HU got on the board after an RBI-field's choice by third-year Bison
Luz Aguilasocho (Grand Terrace, Calif.) drove in senior
Kalita Dennis (Elk Grove, Calif.), 4-1.
Top six, Allen extended the Cyclones lead with a two-run triple to right center, 6-1.
Next inning, ISU pulled away with four runs in their final at-bat.
On Feb. 25-27, Howard returns to the Tar Heel State for the Campbell Stampede, hosted by the Campbell Camels.
