Steve Settle, III (Glenarden, Md.) recorded a double-double (14 points & 10 rebounds) and graduate
Jelani Williams (Washington) and
Jordan Wood (San Antonio) contributed 15 points and 14 points, respectively, but it was not enough as the Bison fell, 74-65, to Hampton University at the Hampton Convocation Center.
In losing their second in a row, the Bison (4-6) were plagued by turnovers as the Pirates (2-6) were able to score 27 points off Bison miscues. Hampton, which came into the game with a five-game losing streak, was able to take a 47-34 lead at the half, courtesy to the Howard miscues.
The Bison fought their way back and cut the deficit to 69-64 with 2:31 remaining in the second half. But the Pirates were able to secure the victory by finishing with a 5-1 run.
The Bison travel to Richmond, Va. to take on the Rams of VCU Sunday December 11 at 7 p.m.
