NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (September 30, 2021) – Howard University men's soccer team dropped its Northeast Conference (NEC) contest at Merrimack (MC), 5-0.
 
With the loss, HU fell to 1-5-2 (0-2 NEC) while the Warriors moved to 3-6-1 (2-0 NEC) on the year.
 
Merrimack was on the attack from the start, led by Frantz Pierrot and Stefano Persenti. Combined, the two Warriors scored all five goals, including a hat trick (three goals) from Pierrot.
 
At the six-minute mark, MC's Johan Feilscher found Pierrott and put the Warriors ahead early, 1-0.
 
Nearly 20 minutes later, Stefano extended the lead and gave Merrimack a 2-0 advantage at the break.
 
After intermission, Pierrott scored two more goals during the 53' and 67' marks while Pesenti scored again at the 70-minute mark.
 
Freshman midfielder 
Tighe Yursha (Brandenton, Fla.) led the team with two shot attempts.
 
Sophomore 
Benjamin Hoesli (Bern, Switzerland) started tonight in the cage, finishing with four saves in the loss.
 
Sunday (Oct. 3), the Bison continue its road play and take on Central Connecticut State. Match time is 3 p.m.
