WASHINGTON (September 26, 2021) – Howard University women's soccer team cruised past Wagner, 3-1, at Greene Stadium.
With the victories, HU moved to 3-3 (2-1 NEC) overall and won back-to-back matches for the first time this season.
Howard was on the attack all afternoon, outshooting the Seahawks, 13-7.
In the opening moments, freshman
Kyra Bolden (McLean, Va.) scored her first collegiate goal and put the Bison ahead, 1-0.
With time dwindling before intermission, rookie
Rachel Asare (Riverview, Fla.) delivered a header as time expired, thanks to a corner kick from fellow classmate
Savannah Hersh (Huntingtown, Md.), 2-0.
At the 65-minute mark, freshman
Zoe Moore (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) added an insurance goal to extend the lead, 3-0.
Madison Carr put Wagner on the board late off a free kick, 3-1.
On Sept. 30, the Bison will face Long Island at Greene Stadium. Match time is set for 5 p.m.
