WASHINGTON (September 26, 2021) – With less than 10 minutes remaining, St. Francis-Brooklyn (SFC) scored the lone goal of the match to edge out the Howard University men's soccer team, 1-0, at Greene Stadium.
 
With the loss, HU fell to 1-3-2 (0-1 NEC) while the Terriers moved to 3-3-1 (1-0 NEC) overall.
 
SFC outshot the Bison, 13-6, and had an advantage in corner kick opportunities, 8-4.
 
Both squads were scoreless at the halftime and nether club could get the upper hand after intermission.
 
At the 83-minute mark, SFC's Badr Mesar found El Mahdi Yousoufi crossing where he scored in the back of the net.
 
Junior 
Ethan Persad (Ontario, Canada) and sophomore 
Sammy Oladeji (Arlington, Texas) took two shots apiece in the loss.
 
Senior goalkeeper 
Emery Simon (Elkhart, Ind.) had a match-leading four saves.
 
Tuesday (Sept. 28), Howard goes to Durham, N.C., to face nationally ranked No. 6 Duke. Match time is set for 7 p.m. on the ACC Network.
