WASHINGTON, D.C.-- On Monday, Howard opened its home slate, battling GW to a 1-1 draw at Greene Stadium.
Howard's
Bryson Baker recorded his first career goal at the 22-minute mark to take an early lead, 1-0.
Howard's Emory Simon got the nod at goalkeeper, recording ten saves, held the Colonials at bay throughout the contest when GW broke through in the 88th minute to tie the game, 1-1 that forced overtime.
Simon made some nifty saves in the final minutes to force a second overtime. Simon denied GW final attempts in the waning seconds of the second overtime to escape with a stalemate.
GW outshot the Bison 9-1 in overtime, 26-7 overall.
Baker led the offense, recording three shots, two shots on goal connecting on one.
