Men’s Track & Field Continues to Show Promise

Rhode Island native reset school benchmark in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 24, 2021) – Howard University men's track & field team continues to show promise in preparation for the 2021 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships with solid performances at the Aggie Classic, hosted by North Carolina A&T State (NCAT).

Several Bison excelled despite the inclement weather.

Sophomore Ezra Montiero (New Port, R.I.) led the Bison with another record-setting performance in the hammer throw. The Rhode Island native shattered his previous mark, tossing 50.22 meters (164'9"), which placed him fifth overall.

On the track, graduate Casimir Tawiah (Lexington Park, Md.), junior Kameron Davis (Miami) and sophomores Richard Ninamou (Louisville) and Ja'Leak Perry (Atlanta) took third in the 4x100 relay, clocking in at 41.97.

Individually, Davis competed in the 100-meter hurdles where he won his heat with a 14.21 mark.

On May 7-8, Director of Track and Field David Oliver and the Bison once again return to North Carolina A&T State, this time for MEAC Championships weekend.
