WASHINGTON (March 14, 2021) – Howard University women's tennis team showed promise in their season opener despite falling to crosstown rival George Washington (GW), 0-7.
In doubles competition,
Hana El Sherif (Cairo, Egypt) and
Emnet Simunyola (Lorton, Va.) fell just short to GW's Lindsay Thompson and Alexandra Vesikallo, 6-7.
Senior
Aria Ragas (Johns Creek, Ga.) and junior
Kendall Addison (Charlotte, N.C.) battled, but came up short against George Washington's Charlotte Bell and Sarah Bodewes, 3-6.
In singles, the Colonials won all six matches.
On March 27, the Bison (0-1) face Georgetown in another crosstown battle. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
