WASHINGTON (November 4, 2021) – Howard University women's volleyball team continues its home stand with a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchups inside The Burr.
Friday (Nov. 5), the Bison hosts North Carolina Central (NCCU) at 6 p.m., followed by a 10 a.m. start time against South Carolina State (SCSU) for Senior Day.

MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
HU (12-11, 9-2 MEAC) arrives with the league's longest-active winning streak at six. Currently, Howard sits atop the conference standings, tied with Delaware State.
Freshmen
Bria Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) and
Cimone Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) lead the Bison attack, ranking among the league leaders in multiple categories.
Recently, C. Woodard was named MEAC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
NCCU (8-12, 7-4 MEAC) enters the weekend tied for third in the league standings. North Carolina Central has won four of their last five contests, including a five-set win over Delaware State.
Senior Ammaarah Williams is contributing a team-best 3.84 points per set while ranking fourth in the MEAC with 1.00 blocks per set.
NCCU is 0-7 against Howard in its DI era, including this year's contest in Durham.
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
Before facing HU, the Bulldogs (0-20, 0-11 MEAC) travel to Norfolk State. Coming into the weekend, SCSU is looking for their first win of the season.
Junior Maria Julia Vedovatto Louriero leads the squad with 157 total kills.
LAST TIMEOUT
HU went 2-0 against Baltimore foes Morgan State (MSU) and Coppin State (CSU).
Friday (Oct. 29), the Bison claimed yet another three-set victory, defeating MSU inside Burr Gymnasium (25-14, 25-17, 25-16). B. Woodard led the way with a match-high 11 kills, followed by second-year Bison
Jennifer Bolden (Los Angeles) adding 10 kills in the victory.
Two days later (Oct. 31), Howard continued its winning ways after taking down CSU in four sets (28-30, 25-19, 25-17, 25-23) at Burr Gymnasium. Junior
Tamar Wells (Apopka, Fla.) led the Bison attack, finishing with 16 kills, five total blocks and three digs.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Nov. 14, the Bison meet Big 12 opponent West Virginia at The Burr. Match time is set for 6 p.m. Two days later (Nov. 16), HU wraps up the regular season at Norfolk State. First serve at 2 p.m.
