Mount St. Mary’s Scores Late to Down Men’s Soccer

Bison lose on the road, 1-0

EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 17, 2021) – Howard University men's soccer team fell on the road at Mount St. Mary's (MSM), 1-0, thanks to a late goal down the stretch.

Shot attempts were at a premium in today's Northeast Conference showdown, combining for only 11 tries.

Both clubs were scoreless after the first 45 minutes of action and neither team could get the upper hand over the other.

At the 78-minute mark, MSM (3-11, 1-5 NEC) broke the scoreless streak after Erick Villatoro found Adao Manuel for his first goal of the season, 1-0.

Freshman Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) took a match-leading four shots while unable to find the back of the net.

Both clubs were aggressive throughout the afternoon, causing seven yellow cards to be issued, including three from HU.

On Oct. 24, Howard (2-9-2, 1-5 NEC) returns to The Mecca to face Sacred Heart. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
