WASHINGTON (October 13, 2021) – Howard University women's volleyball team continues its road trip with another pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchups.
Thursday (Oct. 14), HU meets South Carolina State (SCSU) in Orangeburg, S.C., followed by a Friday night (Oct. 15) showdown with North Carolina Central (NCCU). Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m.

MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
HU (6-11, 3-2 MEAC) looks to bounce back after a tough five-set loss at Coppin State (Oct. 10). Currently, the Bison are in a four-way tie for second place with CSU, Maryland Eastern Shore and NCCU.
Freshmen
Bria Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) and
Cimone Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) spearhead the Bison, sitting among the league leaders in several categories.
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
NCCU (4-10, 3-2 MEAC) enters the weekend looking to snap its brief two-match slide. After starting league play 3-0, the Eagles have dropped its last two contests at Delaware State (Oct. 8), 3-0, and at Maryland Eastern Shore (Oct. 10), 3-0.
Junior Ammaarah Williams ranks among the conference leaders in hitting percentage (.309/5
th) and kills per set (2.87/6
th).
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
SCSU (0-14, 0-5 MEAC) seeks its first victory of the season.
Maria Juila Vedovatto and Gabrielle Wells leads the Lady Bulldogs with 48 and 47 total kills, respectively.
LAST TIMEOUT
Last weekend, the Bison picked up a split in Baltimore.
Friday (Oct. 8), HU took down Morgan State in straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) at the Hill Field House.
Two days later (Oct. 10), Howard suffered a five-set loss on the road at Coppin State (25-18, 19-25, 18-25, 25-18, 10-15) inside PEC Arena.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Oct. 24, HU closes out its five-match road swing in Princess Anne, Md., against Maryland Eastern Shore. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
