WASHINGTON (June 25, 2020) – Before her arrival at The Hilltop,
Janice Saunders was a New York City Public School Athletic League High School Champion. During her time at HU, she was a two-year member of the Howard University women's swim team (1985-87).
In 1989, Saunders graduated from The Mecca with her bachelor's degree in business administration. Two years later (1991), she went onto further her education at Clark Atlanta University, earning her Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Saunders began her career with Pfizer, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, where she was one of a few African-American women sales representatives. After nearly 20 years since starting for Pfizer, she was inducted into the 2010 Pfizer Selling Hall of Fame.
In 2012, Saunders was a Certified Professional Life Coach from New York University where she went on to start One Jazzy Life Development Coaching Company. Since starting the company, she has been able to marry her love of developing young people with the communication skills she has mastered as a career salesperson.
She is the author of "Your Dreams Are Priceless, How to Use Great Speaking Skills to Make Your Dreams Come True" and her missions is to empower young people to leave a legacy they can be proud of.
With coaching as her calling, Saunders serves as an Assistant Coach of the Riverbank Redtail Swim Team for 25 years. As a swim geek at heart, she continues to use swimming as a tool to motivate and inspire young people.
Saunders has also developed an expertise in the mental health. Currently, she works for Lundbeck as a Psychiatry Senior Account Manager. In 2019, she was recognized for the All-Star Award.
Through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Saunders is a passionate volunteer, serving on the board of the Bronx chapter. She is also a trained speaker, delivering "Talk Saves Lives" whenever needed.
Currently, Janice living in New York City where she has lived for most of her life. Janice loves being mom to Adam Diaz and life partner to Ernest.
