"Where Are They Now?" Featuring Raneika Bean

One of nation's top goal scorers turn physical therapist

WASHINGTON (March 26, 2020) - Raneika Bean was a forward for the Howard University women's soccer team from 2001-04. During her collegiate career, she set several individual school records while ranking among the nation's best goal scorers.
 
In her four years at The Mecca, she racked up 131 points, 60 goals and 11 assists in 66 matches played. In Bean's first two seasons, she finished top 5 nationally in goals per match (gpm) and points per match (ppm) after totaling 87 points (2.56 ppm), 40 goals (1.76 gpm) and seven assists in 34 contests.
 
In Nov. 2016, she was inducted into the Howard University Department of Athletics Hall of Fame.
 
After graduating from Howard's Master of Physical Therapy program (Dec. 2007), she began working as a Physical Therapist at the Sports Pro Physical Therapy in Upper Marlboro, Md. for two years (2008-10).
 
In 2010, Bean relocated to Atlanta where she initially worked at another privately owned outpatient physical therapy clinic and then spent a few years as a traveling physical therapist.
 
Currently, she resides in Georgia and has been working in a home health setting as a physical therapist for the past six years.
 
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

The new weekly series of "Where Are They Now?" appears each Thursday throughout the year.
