GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 20, 2019) – Howard University women's lacrosse were shutout by Furman (FU), 22-0, inside Paladin Stadium.
Furman (9-7) took a double-digit lead at the break, 14-0, and built on their advantage with eight more goals after intermission, 22-0.
HU (0-12) recorded six draw controls on the day, led by sophomores
Tiffany Hunt (Bridgewater, N.J.) an
Marquia Walker (Bradenton, Fla.) with two apiece. The New Jersey native also forced two turnovers in the loss.
Defensively, the Bison racked up eight ground balls, led by freshman standout
Sydney Saunders (Baltimore) with four. Newcomer
Andrea Fievre (Snellville, Ga.) scooped up a pair of ground balls, along with seven saves at the net.
Furman's Hannah Feinberg and Isabelle Walsh scored three times each in the victory.
HU wraps up the regular season with two more Atlantic Sun (ASUN) contests.
Friday (April 26), Howard ends its four-match road trip at Liberty. The action starts 6 p.m. Two days later (April 28), the Bison return home where the Kennesaw State Owls await. Match time is slated for 11 a.m. on Senior Day.
