WASHINGTON (April 2, 2019) --- Howard women's tennis won in dominating fashion today over Maryland Eastern Shore, 7-0. Howard improves to 2-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

The Bison opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Nicole Hutchison and Christina Joynes defeated Michal Kittrell and Kenza Katema at first doubles, 6-0. Kendall Addison and Yassmine Khiri upended Lauren Brown and Sarah Smith, 6-0, in the number two doubles. Aria Ragas and Dominique Jackson sealed the third doubles with a final 6-0 win over Benita Kiabilua and Tiara Barnes.

Howard won all six singles matches in straight sets. Khiri took the set against Kittrell, 6-1, 6-1, while Hutchison defeated Katema 6-0, 6-0 in the second singles. At third singles, Joynes was victorious over Smith, 6-0, 6-0. In the fifth singles, Ragas was successful over Kiabilua, 8-0 with Jackson finishing the sixth singles, 8-0, over Barnes.

The Bison return to action on Saturday, April 6 as they travel to Morgan State University to face the Bears at 1 p.m.
