SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 18, 2019) – Howard University women's lacrosse were shut down by the Wofford Terriers at Gibbs Stadium, 23-0.
After taking a double-digit advantage at the break, 15-0, Wofford added eight more goals following intermission, 23-0.
Despite the loss, HU won eight draw controls, led by second-year midfielder
Jillian Jones (Fresno, Calif.) with four. Freshman standout
Sydney Saunders (Baltimore) added three in a losing effort.
Defensively, newcomer
Andrea Fievre (Snellville, Ga.) recorded a match-high seven saves while sophomore
Bernadette Nwoye (Montgomery Village, Md.) scooped up a pair of ground balls in the loss.
For Wofford (3-12), Ally Furnari led the Terriers' attack with three goals.
Saturday (April 20), Howard (0-11) continues its road swing in Greenville, S.C. where the Furman Paladins await. Match time is slated for 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
