WASHINGTON - Howard women's tennis (3-9) fell to Longwood (10-5) as the team celebrated Senior Day on Sunday. The 1 p.m. match was hosted by the Bison at the Banneker Tennis Courts.

The Bison were competitive against a tough Lancers team, particularly in the Doubles competition. Seniors Christina Joynes and Nicole Hutchison defeated Anika Tylek and Marija Venta, 6-4. In the singles, Hutchison kept up with the Lancers' Yulia Almiron before Almiron pulled away.

On Senior Day, head coach Larry Strickland recognized the team's three seniors: Hutchison, Joynes and Kindha Nasef.

The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, March 27. They will travel to Baltimore to face Loyola at 3 p.m.
