Howard Drops Final Road Game to FAMU

TALLAHASSEE (November 16) - The Howard University Bison football team failed to seal the deal against Florida A&M University Rattlers in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action, with a 39-7 loss on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Bragg Memorial Stadium.

With the loss, the Bison falls to 1-10 (1-6 in conference) and the Rattlers rise to 9-1 (7-0 in conference).

Running back duo Dedrick Parson (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Josiah Crute (Washington, D.C.) were the workhorses for the Bison, both ran for 41 yards and Crute scored the sole touchdown for the Bison, his fourth on the season. At the receiver position, Kyle Anthony (Miramar, Fla.) led HU with eight catches for 45 yards, his now fifth all-time for most receptions in MEAC history.

On the other side of the ball, the Bison defense held strong against the highest-ranked team in the conference. They held the Rattlers to 17 points in the first half and did not allow them to score in the final quarter. Freshman Casaan Dixon (Portsmouth, Va.) and sophomore Rodney Dennard (Braddock, Pa.) made demonstrative stops on the field for seven tackles and one interception, respectively.

Despite the strong defensive effort, the Rattlers' number one offense won them the day. Bishop Bonnet ran for 59 yards and one touchdown while veteran quarterback Ryan Stanley threw for 172 yards and one touchdown.

The Bison will close out the season by hosting Morgan State University for senior day at Greene Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m.
