MONTGOMERY, Ala. (October 27, 2019) – Howard University women's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 victory over Alabama State to claim at least a share of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Regular Season title.
 
With the victory, Howard finished league play with a 9-1 mark.
 
HU controlled the tempo, outshooting the Hornets, 16-6.
 
At the eight-minute mark, sophomore 
Arianna Morgan (Oklahoma City, Okla.) scored the Bison's lone goal, thanks to an assist from fellow classmate 
Thalia Boucher (Toronto, Canada).
 
Defensively, senior goalkeeper 
Alayah Hightower (Largo, Md.) led the charge with three saves in the victory.
 
For Alabama State (5-13, 4-5 SWAC), Hrafnhildur Hjaltalin registered a pair of saves in the loss.
 
On Nov. 7-10, Coach 
Brent Leiba's squad seeks its fourth title in six years at the SWAC Tournament in Houston.
