GRAMBLING, La. (October 13, 2019) – Howard University women's soccer team held on to remain unbeaten in league play after a 1-0 victory at Grambling State.
 
With the win, HU improved to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
 
At the 11-minute mark, second-year defender 
Kendall Macauly (Toronto, Canada) found fellow classmate 
Victoria Thornton (Plainfield, Ill.) for the deciding goal of the contest.
 
Despite outshooting HU, 11-5, senior goalkeeper 
Alayah Hightower (Largo, Md.) and the Bison keep Grambling State off the board to extend its conference winning streak to 14, dating back to September 2018.
 
Next weekend, HU returns to Alabama for another pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matchups.
 
Friday (Oct. 18), Howard hosts Mississippi Valley State in Birmingham, Ala. at Sicard Hollow Park. Match time is set for 8:30 p.m. (ET)/7:30 p.m. (CT).
 
Two days later (Oct. 20), the Bison take on Alcorn State at noon (ET)/11 a.m. (CT).
