Taylor and White See First Goals of the Season in Road Win Over Robert Morris University

Moon Township, Pa. (September 7, 2018) --- Howard University women's soccer team is leaving Pennsylvania with a 3-1 win after defeating Robert Morris University today in the North Athletic Complex.

Howard (2-4-0) scored in the first 20 minutes of the game when Whitney White put the Bison on the board with her first goal of the season. White made a move into the box and curled a kick from the left.

The Colonials (1-6-0)  responded at the 38 minute mark, tying the game 1-1. With an assist from Anni Varjonen, Keli Rosensteel posted a point for the Colonials.

In the second half, the Bison played hard and smart to take the game away from the Colonials. Freshman Jordan Taylor wasted no time getting more points for Howard. She scored her first goal of the season in the opening minutes of the second half. A long range knuckler from inside the 18 pushed the momentum Howard's way. In dynamic fashion, Taylor followed up with a second goal less than three minutes later to catapult the Bison to 3-1.

Defensively, Robert Morris recorded 15 saves to Howard's six. Both of Howard's goalkeepers, Mackenzie Diotte and Alayah Hightower saw playing time and recorded three saves each. Offensively, Howard outshot Robert Morris 18 to 7 and had triple the amount of corner kicks, 12-4.
The Bison return to Greene Stadium for their next home game on September 17 at 7 p.m. against Navy.
