WASHINGTON (September 29, 2018) – In a contest that saw a combined 47 shots, the Howard University men's soccer team and the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) Keydets were unable to find the back of the net as the contest ended in a tie.
Both squads had several opportunities to end the match in regulation.
HU (1-4-3) took a match-high 28 shots, led by junior
Andres Gomez (Silver Spring, Md.) with eight attempts. Freshman
Joshua Kalubyaka (Germantown, Md.) had four chances on the day.

Carlos Caro (Silver Spring, Md.) registered a season-best 10 saves in the tied.
VMI's Justin Riescher shot a team-high five times while goalkeeper Broden Schull recorded eight stops in the draw.
Next Saturday (Oct. 6), Howard opens conference play against Georgia Southern at Greene Stadium. Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Alumni Day.
