Trio of Bison finish in the top 15

2018 Mason Invitational Results

LEESBURG, Va. (September 29, 2018) – Director of Track and Field David Oliver and the Howard University Men's & Women's Cross County teams took part in the Mason Invitational where the men finished fourth overall in the 8K race.
For both sides, a trio of Bison placed in the top 15.
On the men's side, senior Tariq Fullerton (Kingston, Jamaica) and sophomore Anthony Gordon (Clinton, Md.) led the way. Fullerton placed 12th overall, posting a 27:27.50 mark, while Gordon established a new personal best (27:34.30) and took 14th in the event.
D.C. native Aaron Coates set a new season best, recording a 29:31.40 time.
No team results were recorded for the women, but second-year runner Destiny Stanford (Woolwhich Township, N.J.) and newcomer Melanie White (Orlando, Fla.) led the charge.
Stanford turned in a 24:36.50 mark, which was good for 15th place in the 5K race, while White crossed the finish line at 26:50.
George Mason won both men's and women's titles.
After a week away from competition (Oct. 13), Director Oliver and the Bison journey to Gettysburg, Pa. for the Gettysburg Invitational. First race starts 10:30 a.m.
