2018 Eastern Shore Invite Results (Women)
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (September 22, 2018) – Director of Track and Field
David Oliver and the Howard University Men's & Women's Cross Country teams returned in a big way at the Eastern Shore Invitational in Princess Anne, Md.
HU men placed second overall while the women took third.
Senior
Tariq Fullerton (Kingston, Jamaica) and sophomore
Destiny Stanford (Woolwich Township, N.J.) guided the Bison. Fullerton finished third with a new personal best (27:15.2) in the men's 8K race while Stanford placed second, posting a 19:07.7 mark in the 5K event.
On the men's side, sophomore
Anthony Gordon (Clinton, Md.) and freshman
Gavin Williams (Dover, Del.) each earned a spot in the top 10 while newcomer
Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) placed 11
th.
For the women, freshman
Melanie White (Orlando, Fla.) secured a spot in the top 10, registering a 19:36.4 time.
Seton Hall won both races. Jesse Southard claimed the top spot in the men's 8K while Emma Newgarden recorded a victory in the women's 5K race.
Director Oliver and the Bison continues its season in Fairfax, Va. for the Mason Invitational. The race starts 10 a.m.
