Lauren McCoy and the Howard University Softball team pulled away from Maryland Eastern Shore to complete the season sweep.
HU (8-36, 6-11 MEAC) won all four games against the Hawks, including three in league play.
Furthermore, with the win, Howard doubled its win total from a year ago with a game remaining.
Offensively, Howard erupted for eight runs on 12 hits. Four Bison registered multi-hit performances, led by redshirt freshman
Zaria Hall and newcomer
Alyssa Lavine each with three.
Howard took the early 3-0 advantage, capped off by a two-run double by freshman
Breanna Robinson.
Bottom three, Maryland Eastern Shore responded with three runs to tie the contest, 3-3.

Trinity Gibbs each delivered two-run singles and gave HU the lead back, 7-3.
Top five, junior
Alannah Baiyina added an insurance run with a RBI-single, brining home Lavine, 8-3.

Kamryn Tillman each recorded two hits in the victory.
In a reserve role, redshirt junior
Mackenzi Steele entered the third inning where she picked up from yesterday. The Virginia native tossed five scoreless innings while racking up five strikeouts for her fifth victory of the season.
For Maryland Eastern Shore (4-35, 1-17 MEAC), they generated three runs on nine hits while leaving 10 runners on base. Mackenzie Brown and Samantha Casarez each had a pair of hits in the loss.
On May 2, HU finishes the regular season at Coppin State. First-pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
