HAMPTON, Va. (March 24, 2018) – Howard University Softball team dropped both games Saturday at Hampton after rallying from six down yesterday. HU fell in game one, 8-0, followed by a 9-1 loss in the rubber match.
In the nightcap, HU (3-24, 1-2 MEAC) jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage after a RBI-sac fly by freshman

Both squads were deadlocked after three, 1-1, until a two-run blast from the Lady Pirates' Ashley Grassini put Hampton ahead, 3-1.
After another run in the fifth, 4-1, Hampton ended the game recording a five-run inning in the sixth, 9-1.
In game one, sophomore
Kamryn Tillman and
Jocelyn Avera registered HU's lone hits as Hampton's Allie Hotetz kept Howard off the board.
Top two, the Lady Pirates scored four unearned runs and took a commanding 4-0 lead.
After a pair of runs in the third, 6-0, Hampton finished the contest in five after two more runs.
Tuesday (March 27), the Bison host Drexel in their home opener. The nonconference doubleheader begins 11 a.m. at Nationals Youth Academy.
