WASHINGTON (March 27, 2018) – Howard University Softball team suffered setbacks in its Tuesday nonconference doubleheader against Siena at the Nationals Youth Academy. HU fell in game one, 6-1, then dropped the nightcap in five innings, 9-0.

Alyssa Lavine each registered a hit in the game one loss.

Jocelyn Avera to tie the game, 1-1.
Both squads were deadlocked after five until the Saints took control with a four-run sixth inning, 5-1.
In the nightcap, Lavine and senior
Brooklyn Emory were the lone Bison to record a hit.
Siena held a 2-0 advantage after four until they exploded for seven runs, which put HU out of reach while enforcing the eight-run mercy rule.
On March 30-31, Howard hosts Morgan State in a three-game series at the Nationals Youth Academy. Friday's doubleheader starts 1 p.m. and Saturday's seven-inning contest begins at noon.
