NORFOLK, Va. (March 2, 2018) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) released its postseason honors where Howard University Men's Basketball dynamic duo of freshman RJ Cole and sophomore Charles Williams were selected to the All-MEAC First Team. The announcement came Friday afternoon.

Cole was also selected 2017-18 MEAC Rookie of the Year after winning the conference's weekly honor a record-setting 13 times.

Nationally, the New Jersey native ranks sixth in scoring (23.7) while among the MEAC leaders in assists (6.1), steals (1.7), and minutes (38.0). Cole has scored double figures in every game this season while recording 24 20-point performances. He has also registered five 30-point games and a 40-point performance, which he is one of four freshmen in the nation to produce a 40-point game this year.

Before the season, Williams was named to the Preseason All-MEAC First Team after winning the 2016-17 MEAC Rookie of the Year award. The second-year guard finished second in the league behind Cole, averaging 20.3 ppg. On Feb. 3, the Virginia native became the second fastest in program history to reach 1,000 points. This season, Williams has recorded 19 20-point performances and four 30-point games, including a season-high 32 against Norfolk State.

On the season, Cole and Williams have combined for more than 44 points per game, which accounts for nearly 60-percent of the team's scoring.

Tuesday (March 6), the Bison square off against Florida A&M for a third time this season at the MEAC Basketball Tournament. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. inside the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.
