ELON, N.C. (February 24, 2018) – Howard University Softball team continued its Tar Heel road swing against the Elon Phoenix where they dropped both contests.
 
HU (2-10) fell 7-2 in game one, then Elon (9-4) shutdown Howard in the nightcap, 3-0.
 
In game one, Howard was limited to only four hits. Newcomer 
Trinity Gibbs registered a multi-hit game, going 2-of-3 with a run scored. Juniors 
Jasmine Gibson and 
Mackenzi Steele each recorded a RBI in the loss.
 
Elon took a commanding 7-0 advantage after six, but the Bison refused to go away quietly.
 
In the seventh, Gibson and Steele drove in Gibbs and sophomore 
Kamryn Tillman before falling, 7-2.
 
In the nightcap, Gibbs and sophomore 
Monica Thompson were the lone Bison to produce a hit against Elon's Elise Walton.
 
Elon scored its three runs in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.
 
On March 2-4, Howard returns to D.C. for the District Classic, hosted by Georgetown at the Nationals Youth Academy.
