ATHENS, Ga. (February 16, 2018) – Freshman William Smith highlighted Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Day Three by breaking Howard University Men's Swim team 100-yard breaststroke mark.
 
The previous record holder was Coach Nicholas Askew, who held the mark for 19 years.
 
Smith, junior Alexander Barnes, sophomores Don Brazelton and Sidrell Williams broke the men's 4x400 medley relay mark with a 3:25.29 time.
 
Other notable Bison etched themselves in the school's top ten entries:
 
Junior Farion Cooper - 100 Backstroke (8^th); 100 Breaststroke (10^th); and 100 Fly (10^th)
Junior Nicholas Haughton - 200 Free (7^th)
Junior Mark McCluskey - 200 Free (9^th)
Sophomore Don Brazelton - 100 Backstroke (3^rd)
Sophomore Devin Guardino - 100 Backstroke (t-5^th)
Sophomore Maalik Nixon - 100 Breaststroke (8^th)
Freshman Darrin Asphall - 200 Free (5^th)
Freshman Jon Bendana - 400 IM (4^th)
 
With the two records falling today, that brings this year's total to 19 new school record holders. A year ago, the Bison shattered 13 overall.
