WASHINGTON, D.C. – After earning a big victory against George Mason, the Howard Women's Soccer team could not duplicate the same results as they fell short to Robert Morris (RMU), 3-2, at Greene Stadium.
Whitney White and
Elexa Pierson each scored a goal in a losing effort.
RMU's Kristina Kelley earned her first goal of the season, thanks to an assist from Jane Scleicher.
Less than 10 minutes later, White tied the contest after
Aleeya Sawyer served up the dime.
Robert Morris quickly responded and reclaimed the lead with Scleicher scoring, 2-1.
After intermission, Scleicher increased RMU's advantage, thanks to another assists from Kelley, 3-1.
Down, but refusing to go away,
Noelle McCullom assisted Pierson and pulled the squad within one, 3-2.
With timing running down, the Bison could not force extras.
On Sept. 11, the Bison take a quick trip down to the Tar Heel State where the Campbell Camels await. Match-time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
