WASHINGTON, D.C. – After nearly two weeks away from the field, the Howard Women's Soccer team came up short against South Florida (USF), 1-0, at Greene Stadium.
Howard took nine shots, led by
Ito Nosegbe with three attempts.
Aleeya Sawyer shot twice in a losing effort.
Nearly 30 minutes into the contest, USF's Evelyne Veins scored the lone goal to give South Florida the victory.
Defensively,
Gabrielle Emilien kept HU in the contest with a match-high 10 saves.
For South Florida (4-2), they outshot the Bison, 29-9. Viens led the way with a match-best seven attempts. Anyssa Ibrahim recorded an assist in the victory.
HU (1-5) begins a three-match road trip in nearby Annapolis where they will meet Navy. Monday's showdown starts at 7 p.m.
