WASHINGTON (September 20, 2017) – In their final tune-up before conference play, the Howard Women's Volleyball team evaporated a 2-0 deficit, but came up short against the Zhejiang China Volleyball Club (21-25, 11-25, 31-29, 25-20, 9-15).

Khaila Donaldson and junior
Tamia Dockery each registered a double-double. Donaldson tied a match-best 18 kills while recording 12 digs. Dockery, reigning MEAC Setter of the Week, produced 46 assists and 12 digs in a losing effort.
After hitting only .030 in the first two sets, HU found their rhythm and rallied to take set three, 31-29.
Howard's momentum rolled into set four, recording a .333 hitting percentage. HU forced a fifth and deciding set after holding the opposition to only nine kills.
The fifth set witnessed China regain their composure and won the match after hitting .412 in the set whereas the Bison eclipsed a .143 hitting mark.
Jessica Young posted a match-high 18 kills while producing a .311 hitting percentage. Defensively,
Carlise Cardoza had a match-best 18 digs in the loss.
HU opens conference play on the road at Maryland Eastern Shore (Sept. 29), followed by a home date with Delaware State (Oct. 1). Friday night's match starts at 7 p.m. while Sunday matinee begins 3 p.m.
