WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 13, 2017) – Howard Men's Soccer took the early advantage, but Central Connecticut State (CCSU) scored three unanswered goals to down HU, 3-1, at Greene Stadium.
A little over 10 minutes into the game, freshman
Robert Davis scored, thanks to an assist from
Kyle Celestine, and put the Bison ahead early, 1-0.
Within five minutes, the Blue Devils responded and tied the contest after a goal from Andres Albino, 1-1.
As the first half dwindled, CCSU took the lead with a goal by Ryan Taylor, 2-1.
More than 10 minutes after intermission, Filippo Pirola added an insurance goal and put the contest out-of-reach, 3-1.
Eight different Bison took a shot with
Andres Gomez taking a team-high two attempts.
For CCSU (3-3), they produced three goals on 16 shots. Louis Beddouri registered a team-best six shot and recorded two assists in the victory.
Howard begins a three-match road swing against Radford. Saturday's showdown (Sept. 16) starts at 7 p.m.
