Longwood, Va. – After a scoreless 45 minutes of action, Longwood's Annie Boros scored the go-ahead goal to down Howard, 1-0, at The Athletics Complex in Longwood, Va.
HU fought and kept the contest to a stalemate until Boros' goal at the 54:18 mark eventually would propel Longwood.
Five Bison attempted a shot, but were unable to put a dent into the scoreboard. Defensively,
Gabrielle Emilien played the entire contest and registered a match-high four saves in a losing effort.
For Longwood (1-0), Emilie Kupsov tied a team-best three shots while assisting Boros with the go-ahead goal. Goalkeeper Maria Kirby produced a save in the victory.
HU (0-2) returns to D.C. for a three-match home stand, beginning with Mount St. Mary's (Aug. 25). Start-time is set for 7 p.m. at the William H. Greene Memorial Stadium.
