WILSON, N.C. (November 11, 2017) – Coach Nicholas Askew and the Howard University Women's Swimming & Diving team earned its third straight victory after a 119-81 win over Barton.
 
Senior Summer Lewis and junior KaSandra Kaplan took home the team's Golden Googles, HU's most outstanding female performer of the meet.
 
Kaplan won the women's 200-yard freestyle (1:56.81) and 50-yard backstroke (28.77).
 
Howard opened the afternoon with a victory in the women's 200-yard medley relay, led by Kaplan, junior Marina Markous, sophomore Andreas Weech, and freshman DeAngela Fobbs.
 
Individually, Weech finished first in the women's 50-yard butterfly with a 27.77 time.
 
Freshman Abolade Oyentuji claimed the top spot in the women's 1000-yard freestyle (11:48.65).
 
Sophomore Leanne McMaster took first in the women's 50-yard freestyle (25.75) and 50-yard breaststroke (32.99).
 
HU rounded out the afternoon with a win in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.21). The team consisted of Fobbs, Lewis, Weech, and senior Danielle Brown.
 
HU continues its road trip with two meets against Bucknell (Nov. 17) and Loyola (Md.) (Nov. 18).
 
Friday's prelims start 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m.
 
Saturday's meet begins 1 p.m. in Baltimore.
