WASHINGTON (October 22, 2017) – Howard University Women's Volleyball team picked up its eighth consecutive victory after sweeping the Coppin State University Eagles (25-11, 25-18, 25-16). HU also swept the season series over CSU, 2-0.
Senior
Khaila Donaldson, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason Player of the Year, had a match-high 11 kills, three total blocks and two digs. Fellow classmate

Kira Porter each added nine kills in the victory.
HU blitz the Eagles in set one, registering a .619 hitting percentage, led by Donalson's four kills.
CSU fought back and produced a .136 hitting percentage in set two, but Howard doubled the Eagles' output with a .272 hitting percentage. Porter had four kills on four attempts.
After a 10-minute intermission, the Bison's momentum continued as they eclipsed a .280 hitting percentage while Coppin State managed a -.080 mark.
Junior
Tamia Dockery provided a match-best 27 assists and eight digs in the win.
For CSU (2-22, 2-5 MEAC), Asia Stennis and Valiyah Barnes each recorded five kills while Dominique Madarang posted a team-high 16 assists in a losing effort.
Friday, the Bison conclude its five-match home stretch with Maryland Eastern Shore, followed by a road contest at Delaware State Sunday.
Friday night's showdown for first-place starts 7 p.m. while Sunday afternoon's conference match begins 3 p.m.
