WASHINGTON (October 22, 2017) – Coach
Brent Leiba and the Howard University Women's Soccer team ended its regular season with a tie against the Prairie View A&M (PVAM) Panthers, 1-1, at Greene Stadium.
Before the contest, six Bison played their final match at The Mecca and were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the women's soccer program:
Jordan Bynoe;
Gabrielle Emilien;
Kela Gray;
Noelle McCullom;
Alexia Moore; and
I-sis Wilson.
HU outshot the Panthers, 21-14, and had four more corner kicks.
At the 61-minute mark, Gray scored her final goal at the Hilltop and put the Bison ahead, 1-0.
Nearly five minutes later, the Panthers' Diana Neff tied the contest with an unassisted goal, 1-1.
After two straight 10-minute periods, both squads ended in a draw.
Defensively, Emilien had a match-best seven saves in 120 minutes of action.
The next stop for HU will be the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament in Houston (Nov. 2-5). Date, time, and opponent to be determined.
The SWAC regular season ends Friday.
