Landover, MD--The Howard University Track and Field team will embark on its third meet of the indoor season at the Terp Invitational. It has been two weeks of hard work for the Bison since the month long winter break and the team is excited to be competing again.
Following the Towson Invitational in New York last weekend, the team should be back in the swing of things, so expectations for this meet are high.
With only a few meets left until the 2017 MEAC Indoor Championship, a number of athletes will be attempting to qualify in their respective events.
Head Coach Marc Harrison admits that the first meet back was not what he was hoping for: "Last week was disappointing," Harrison said of the team's performance. "Now that we have a couple weeks of team practice in, it's imperative that we make a strong statement at a local meet."
This appears to be an ideal meet to get some momentum going, considering the team's success at this meet in the past.
"This meet is a great opportunity to move up the MEAC performance list," said Harrison. "The men won this meet a year ago, so expectations are high."
Come out and support the Bison at this local meet as they try to defend their title on Saturday at the PG Complex and Learning Center in Landover, Maryland.
