NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Howard men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw in double overtime with Central Connecticut on Wednesday afternoon at the CCSU Soccer Field.
The ties moves the Bison's record to 1-4-2 overall, while the Blue Devils hold a 0-3-2 mark on the season.
Today's match was the first road game for Howard after its four-game homestand that spanned the last two weeks. It is the second straight double overtime draw for the Bison.
The Blue Devils had a 12-9 advantage in shots and 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
Redshirt senior goalie Kenneth Hersey played all 110 minutes for the Bison and made three stops in the net. Hersey stopped a 2-on-1 attempt in the second half and made another save in the final 30 seconds of extra time.
Junior Kyle Celestine took a team-high three shots. Sophomore Victor Guirma joined Celestine as the only Bison to put a shot on goal.
Howard heads back to Greene Stadium to host Monmouth on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.
