FAIRFAX, Va. – The Howard women's soccer team posted its first loss of the 2016 season after falling, 4-0, to George Mason on Thursday night. With the defeat, the Bison have a 2-1-1 overall record, while the Patriots improve to 4-1-0.
Junior net-minder Gabrielle Emilien saw her first action of the year after replacing sophomore Mackenzie Diotte in the 38th minute. Emilien made four saves and allowed one goal in her 52 minutes.
The Bison had four players that tallied a shot against the Patriots but couldn't find the back of the net. George Mason scored all of its goals in the first half, including a pair from Jenna Hamilton.
Howard will have a few days to bounce back before hosting Princeton on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. in Greene Stadium.
