WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard University men's and women's track and field team had 29 student-athletes named to the 2015-16 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Track All-Academic team. The 29 honorees gave Howard the second-highest total behind Norfolk State (30).
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
"I would like to extend my congratulations to all of our outdoor track and field student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the academic school year," said MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas. "I would also like to acknowledge the accomplishments of these student-athletes, the athletic academic support staffs, the coaches and the parents who all contributed to their academic success."
