Johnson Named To Preseason All-MEAC Third Team

NORFOLK, Va. – Senior forward Sydni Johnson was selected to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason All-Conference Third Team, as announced by the league on Thursday.

The Homewood, Illinois native averaged 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds during the 2015-16 season. For 10 consecutive games, Johnson reached double digits in points, including three outings with at least 20 points. Her best performance last year came on Nov. 24 against Duquesne with 23 points and 10 rebounds. She also made 6-of-7 (.857) from the free throw line.

The MEAC selections were made by the conference's head women's basketball coaches and sports information directors.

The Bison, who went 7-24 (4-12 MEAC) last season, were picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll.
