BROOKLYN, NY --- Junior midfielder
Xavier Rajpaul scored his first goal as a member of the Howard men's soccer team to help the Bison earn a 1-1 tie against the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds on Friday evening at LIU Field.
Rajpaul, a transfer from the College of Charleston, netted his goal in the 75th minute off an assist from sophomore forward/midfielder
Nigel Grant to tie up the game after LIU scoring late in the first half. He led the Bison offensive attack with four of Howard's 11 shots, including half of HU's four shots on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Jordan Austin made his first start of the season and proceeded to play all 110 minutes while making four saves in the process.
The tie was Howard's first since playing Appalachian State to a 2-2 draw at home on October 11 of last season.
NEXT UPHoward will host another New York opponent, St. Francis Brooklyn, on Sunday, September 20 at 2 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
