Victoria Gonzales & junior forward
Sydni Johnson combined for 33 points and 14 rebounds in the Bison's 78-45 loss to the University of Illinois at Chicago Flames on Friday afternoon at the UIC Pavillion.
Gonzales, a Preseason All-MEAC selection, tied for the game-high with 20 points on 9-for-20 shooting from the field. The Atlanta native finished one rebound shy of a double-double. Johnson added 13 points and five rebounds for the Bison (0-1).
Senior guard
Allese Morrison chipped in six points and four assists while freshman forward
Kiana Thomas scored four points while starting her collegiate debut.
The Flames (1-0) had three players in double figures, led by Kendyl Nunn's 20 points and Ruvanna Campbell's double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds.
