ATLANTA, GA --- Despite a team-leading fourth goal of the season from sophomore forward
Kyle Celestine, the Howard men's soccer team came up short against fellow Sun Belt Conference member Georgia State University, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at the GSU Soccer Complex.
Celestine's 26th minute tally - which gave Howard (0-16-2, 0-4 SBC) a 1-0 lead - was set up by freshmen
Bradley Franklin &
Victor Guirma in front of the goal.
The Bison's lead was short-lived, however, as Georgia State (8-7. 3-1 SBC) tied the match less than five minutes later (30'). The Panthers would tack on two more goals in the second half (56', 62') to pull away from Howard.
HU was outshot 19-6 on the day, with Celestine the only Bison player to take more than one shot.
Graduate goalkeeper
Sam Howard made eight shots while playing all 90 minutes in defeat.
